The proposed Millennium Park land is at risk  for logging and private development until a satisfactory solution is found.

The joint venture of the CDPR, Norske and Sliammon will resolve land use of Lot 450.

The Millennium Park Fund will be restructured after the joint venture announcement.

Harold Long [left], MLA for Powell River Sunshine Coast, donated $500 to the Millennium Park campaign in mid-2004 at the Powell River Credit Union. Rudi Van Zwaaij [right], a member of the Millennium Park Committee, matched Long's donation. Mayor Stewart Alsgard [second from right] has also donated on behalf of his family and Sliammon First Nation Chief Maynard Harry supports the creation of the approximately 50-hectare park which encompasses Willingdon Beach Trail.
