The boiler with the wood-loading door behind the
box in the foreground right. Steam formed in the 200 water pipes in the main (vertical)
boiler cylinder and was piped to the piston shown in the bottom center of the photo. The
steam- powered piston drove the gears connected to the main cable drum shown behind
the pipe on the left.
